The Resolution of Thanks placed on record the Company’s warmest thanks and appreciation to Stanley Eley “for his untiring and devoted services for the benefit of the Company, particularly in respect of the successful conclusion leading to the Association with the Royal Army Pay Corps, and also the satisfactory outcome of his personal appeal to Liverymen to contribute, by way of covenant or otherwise, to the Company’s Charitable Trust Fund.”
There was reference to his charm and dignity with which he presided over Company functions, in particular the Ladies Dinner, the Livery Dinner at Mansion House and the signing of documents of Association with the Royal Army Pay Corps at the Duke of York’s Headquarters, Chelsea, on 6 March 1980.
He too had added to the high esteem in which the Company was held and further enhanced it’s standing, and that of the profession of Chartered Secretary and Administrator in the City of London and elsewhere.
