Leeds Beckett University (LBU) offers a Postgraduate MSc programme which is accredited as meeting the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme (CHQP) and offers a deep opportunity for the development of a strong understanding of corporate governance. There is a real emphasis on gaining boardroom skills to assist in the recognition of factors influencing and governing corporate affairs.

In a new relationship with the Company, a focus of co-operation has been established covering inter alia:

  • Donation of a prize for a student dissertation which most appropriately appreciates the role of the Company Secretary
  • Students being offered engagement with the Company’s apprentice and mentee activities
  • Offer of speakers as required to audiences of current and prospective students
  • Invitations to Leeds Beckett to attend and participate in Company functions
  • Assess opportunities to co-operate around areas of research into global ethics and social responsibility

Leeds Beckett has a proud tradition of collaborating with employers and partners to help their graduates become ready for work, life, and opportunities that lie ahead. This philosophy is strengthened by the commitment to student success, innovation and enterprise, global reach, and strong local impact.

The Importance of Values for Governance

The Importance of Values for Governance is a research project that commenced in June 2023 with funding from and collaboration between the Worshipful Company of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (WCCSA) and LBU Business School.

In addition to the range of organisations who participated in the research study, the project has involved other key stakeholders such as the Chartered Governance Institute, the Quoted Companies Alliance and organisations from the City of London.

LBU have created a website which features learning from the project and provides access to key resources. You can access the website HERE.
