London – Hong Kong Intern Exchange 2019

Due to the recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) issues we regret that the Company and our friends at the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries have decided not to run an Intern Exchange during 2020/21. Given the success of the first Exchange, we do intend to run the programme again as soon as we can.

The Worshipful Company of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators is delighted to launch a reciprocal internship exchange between the UK and Hong Kong, in conjunction with the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (“HKICS”). The successful UK candidate has now been selected.

Ted Nicholl, Past Master said of the process:

A group of past masters very kindly agreed to undertake the difficult task of reading all of the applications that were received, and producing a short list of three candidates.

The Master, chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee and I interviewed the three candidates, and if I’d thought that the shortlisting was hard then the final selection from the three terrific candidates was monumental!

After lengthy debate and discussion we came to the decision to make an offer to Rory Herbert. Rory is a 23 Year old student on the ICSA collaborative Portsmouth LLM Corporate Governance and Law course.

Updates on Rory’s progress and news from our colleagues in Hong Kong follow below…
