The Charitable Trust commissioned a magnificent funeral pall which can be borrowed for the funeral or memorial service of any Liveryman or Freeman.
Materials and construction
The pall is crafted from dark blue velvet, richly decorated with the insignia of the Livery Company. Its motif is constructed in layered sections: a man‑made satin-like fabric, apparently laser‑printed, is applied over the velvet. Portions of this upper layer are then cut away to expose the colours and textures beneath, creating depth within the design. The assembled layers are finally secured with meticulous machine zig-zag stitching, anchoring the pattern firmly in place. A gold trim runs around the edge.
If you would like to borrow the funeral pall then please email the Company’s Assistant Clerk to arrange collection and delivery from our London office, which on most occasions will need to be on a Wednesday.
