WCCSA Honorary Freemen Rear Admiral Andy Kyte CB FCILT, Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Support Operations) and Chief Naval Logistics Officer, will be joining Professor Roger Kirby, Royal Society of Medicine President, for a conversation about his career and postings including his deployment in Afghanistan, how the Royal Navy continues to adapt with new technologies and vehicle innovations, his thoughts on military and naval personnel support hubs after retirement, and how the Ministry of Defence responded to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rear Admiral Kyte is responsible for providing logistics advice to Ministers and direction to Defence’s operational planning. With over 30 years’ logistic experience he has served on operations in Northern Ireland, Afghanistan, the Gulf, and most recently Commanded the Standing Joint Force Logistic HQ in Oman and Republic of Korea.

He was appointed CB in the 2020 New Year’s Honours List for his contribution to Defence’s response to the COVID pandemic. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and is President of the Royal Navy Royal Marines Surfing Association.
