WCCSA is proud to be a member of the Livery Climate Action Group and we are grateful for all of the support which that group gives to livery companies as they consider how they can reduce their carbon footprint and operate in a more sustainable way.

In 2024 we produced our Climate Action plan, which was approved and endorsed by our Court.  We have a Sustainability Working Group which is looking at how we make progress towards achieving the aims set out in our plan.

We encourage our members and stakeholders to consider their impacts on the environment and what they can do to help protect biodiversity.

Resources

We loved Giki Zero which was free to join and let you calculate your carbon footprint.  Did you know that by 2030, the target annual carbon footprint for everyone is 2.5 tonnes?

Another great resource for Non Executive directors is Chapter Zero.  This is a Climate Forum which works with NEDs and Chairs to embed climate into business strategy.  It is a superb source of information, guidance and networking opportunities.  It is free for NEDs to join.  There are resources on transition planning, ESG reporting, nature considerations for boards and many other topics.

Their knowledge hub provides a Directors’ Climate Journey, starting from “The Business Case”, going through “Review Ambition”, “Drive Board Action”, “Implement the Transition”, “Ensure Accountability” and finishing at “Accelerate Business Transformation”.
