WCCSA at the 2022 Sheep Drive
On Sunday 25th September, the 2022 Sheep Drive took place on the downstream walkway of historic London Bridge. A long-established charity event, celebrating a Freeman’s ancient “right” to bring sheep to market over the Thames, toll free; all in aid of raising funds for The Woolmen Charity and The Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
This year was extra-special for the WCCSA as individual Liverymen and the Livery Liaison Group sponsored members of Raymond Fox’s family to walk in his memory. Ray, a WCCSA Liveryman since 2009, sadly passed away earlier this year, but had told his family he was going to take part in the Sheep Drive.
It really was a lovely afternoon, and we are pleased to report that the sheep behaved beautifully! We started off by strolling around the craft fair and after we had driven our sheep, finished off with a shot of Sheep’s Milk Vodka!
The Fox family were extremely grateful to the Company for enabling them to take part in their father’s memory and special thanks goes to the WCCSA Liverymen who provided sponsorship to Ray’s family.
