Rokeby is one of the two London schools WCCSA supports with governance, opportunities and awards. We were delighted to read the following in a recent school newsletter.

Due to the success of Rickardo White’s outstanding speech at Buckingham palace and the strong impression he made on the audience, the Outward Bound Youth Trust selected him individually to  represent their organisation. This time Rickardo was invited to speak to a much larger audience, including Princess Beatrice, at the magisterial Windsor Castle.

It is amazing to see how far Rickardo has come on his journey through life. In his speech he talked about how he used to be “shy, introverted and actively isolate himself” and now he has the confidence to share his life experiences with a crowd of 500 people in places like Buckingham Palace and Windsor castle. Truly fantastic!

On the night of the event, Rickardo accompanied by friend, Reece Lukombo, represented Rokeby school with poise. They got to enjoy the surroundings of the Castle through speaking to members of the Royal family over a 3 course dinner. It is evident that Rickardo’s time on the outward bound course was a valuable experience and has enhanced his levels of resilience, confidence and desire for learning.
