I was born in Kensington, West London in 1956 but was returned to the Caribbean, Trinidad at the age of 9 months where I was brought up by my grandparents. Returned to the UK with my parents in 1968 and have lived in Notting Hill since then.

I attended the Burlington Grammar School for girls. Attended the College of Law 1975 – 1978 and qualified as a Barrister at Law. I am a member of Lincoln’s Inn and while there, had the great privilege of having Lord Denning as a mentor.

Studied Peace Studies at the University of Bradford, Finance and Administration at Thames Valley University, Health and Safety Law at the University of Salford and finally a Professional Doctorate in the Built Environment at the University of Salford.

I became a Chartered Secretary in 1997 and joined the Worshipful Company in 2000. Between 1989 and 2002, I served as the Chairman and Chief Executive of the Notting Hill Carnival, and have travelled extensively, lecturing in several countries on how to organise major national events to more effectively achieve goals.

I am currently a Senior Crown Prosecutor at the Crown Prosecution Service, Petty France and am enjoying every moment of my legal practice. I have a keen interest in government and governance and am always wanting to learn more.
