The Heats for the 2020 Sheriffs’ Challenge competition were held last week, with a greater number of London secondary schools competing.

You will recall that one of ‘our’ schools, Mulberry Academy Shoreditch (MAS), were the winners last year.

This year’s topic is ‘What will be the impact of climate change on the City of London and how will this influence the conduct of business?’ which most of the coaches thought was another tricky topic for sixth formers to research and to present.

I am pleased to tell you that the MAS team performed with skill, presence and personality and succeeded in winning a place in the Finals, which will be held at the Old Bailey on 12th March.

The students are currently on their half-term break and, hopefully, preparing for appearing before the two City Sheriffs and two Old Bailey judges.
